Switch to digital phones
If you have had a letter from BT about the upgrade to digital, you must make an appointment for the upgrade as detailed in the letter.
Many upgrades can happen without the engineer having to even come into your home, as they can do it at the exchange (the appointment is in case vulnerable customers need to have someone with them while the phone is not connected for an hour). The letter is called ‘Your Free Service Upgrade’ which means the engineer will do the work for you – after January 2027, that might not be available for free.
